MELBOURNE’S Kate Hore has been rewarded for her impressive outing in Round 2, receiving the equal-most AFLCA votes.

The flashy forward polled eight votes from the coaches for her two-goal, 14-disposal effort against Richmond, which helped her side to a 16-point victory at the Swinburne Centre.

Hore, who was involved in plenty of the action up forward and kicked her two majors during Melbourne’s dominant second term, also managed four marks, three tackles and three clearances on the night.

Demons Karen Paxman and Tyla Hanks were recognised for their performances in the middle, with their composure and impact earning them five votes apiece.

Paxman, who finished with 23 disposals and a goal, stood up at key stages for the Dees, while Hanks made all her 20 touches, five marks and four clearances look effortless.

In her first game of the season, Eliza McNamara came out firing and collected two votes, tallying 17 disposals, five tackles and five marks, and rounded out Melbourne’s top performers.

Richmond’s Monique Conti (25 disposals and a goal) was judged the best Tiger on the deck, receiving eight votes, while teammate Gabby Seymour was also recognised (two votes).

Hore and Hanks sit just inside the Top 10 after two rounds of voting.
