MCM’s Sleep At The ‘G is returning in 2021, albeit with a twist.

The event, which raises funds and awareness for youth homelessness, is usually held at the MCG, but after being cancelled for a second year running, will encourage people to ‘sleep rough’ at home.

Participants can ditch the comfort of their own bed for their backyard, car, couch or floor, in support of the work of MCM.

Every night in Victoria, 6,000 young people have no safe place to sleep. They are forced to sleep rough, in unsafe housing or couch surf. MCM helps those impacted get the support they need, so they don’t become further entrenched in long-term homelessness.

People wanting to get behind the important cause, which is being held on Thursday 28 October, can team up with workmates and friends (or go solo).

In addition to the challenge, MCM will be live-streaming a gig on the night, featuring performers such as Dan Sultan. The stream will kick off at 7pm and provide some entertainment for ‘sleepers’ participating at home.

MCM has been a charity partner of the club for nine years.

Sleep at the ‘G will be a bit different this year, but youth homelessness remains the same – MCM really appreciates your support.
