Season Overview:
In his fifth season for the Demons, Hibberd started the year as one of Melbourne’s more experienced players, with his defensive knowledge the key to his game.

Towards the back end of the season, the defender had to prove his strength on the track to make a return to the starting 22 and did just that. He re-joined the side for the Preliminary Final against Geelong and was part of Melbourne’s 83-point win. In his 173rd career game, Hibberd became a member of the Demons premiership side and topped off the season by re-signing with the club to see him remain in the red and blue for 2022.
