LUKE Jackson, Kysaiah Pickett and Trent Rivers have all been named in the AFL Players Association’s 22Under22 team for 2021.

The AFLPA team consists of the game’s best talent aged 22 and under, with Melbourne having the equal most selected players across the league, alongside the Gold Coast Suns.

This is the first time the three Demons have been recognised in the side, a testament to the impressive year they’ve each had, playing important roles in Melbourne’s first minor premiership since 1964.

All three Demons were drafted together in the 2019 National Draft and have since shown immense development becoming regulars in the senior line-up.

Jackson has been a stand-out for the Dees this year, developing into a talented and versatile player, who has continued to show strength across the field in both the ruck and forward line.

Pickett has spent the season improving his craft as a small forward, kicking 35 goals and putting up career-high numbers across multiple statistics.

Lastly, young defender Rivers has been a strong addition to Melbourne’s backline, continuing to improve week by week, learning off the likes of defensive stalwarts Steven May and Jake Lever.
