In an all-time high for Melbourne’s AFL program, seven Demons have been named in the 2021 All-Australian squad.

Max Gawn, Clayton Oliver and Christian Petracca are among those who feature in the 40-man line-up, with Gawn looking to receive his fifth All-Australian honour since first being recognised in 2016.

Oliver, who earned his maiden selection in 2018, will be chasing a second nod, and Petracca will be hoping to go back-to-back after being awarded a spot last year.

In a testament to Melbourne’s strong defence, Christian Salem, Jake Lever and Steven May are all in line to be first-time All Australians, while Bayley Fritsch is representing up forward.

Fritsch, 24, has had a successful year in the red and blue, kicking 47 goals over the 2021 season.

The Therabody All-Australian Team will be revealed on Thursday night, in a special virtual event on Fox Footy and Kayo from 8.30pm AEST.
