It’s taken a mere three games for Melbourne youngster Jake Bowey to display his talent within the Melbourne side.

After making his AFL debut in Round 20, Bowey has quickly earned himself a NAB AFL Rising Star nomination for his Round 22 performance against the Adelaide Crows on Sunday afternoon.

The 18-year-old collected 18 disposals, nine handballs, seven contested possessions and five intercept possessions, helping the Demons to a 41-point win.

Bowey first joined the Dees at the end of last year when he was selected with pick No.21 at the 2020 National Draft.

Since being drafted, Bowey has hit the ground running, working hard to develop his skills across half-back.

The Demons now have four NAB AFL Rising Star nominees this season, with Luke Jackson, Trent Rivers and James Jordon also being recognised.

This fourth nomination for the side further solidifies the strength within Melbourne’s young and talented list, after five players were named in the AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 squad last week.
