With Aimee Mackin sadly injured and unable to play in season 2024, Melbourne recruiters made the most of the opportunity to add Taylor to the side on the eve of pre-season. Taylor, an undrafted free-agent, was drafted in 2018 as an All-Australian Junior, played 18 games for Geelong across three seasons of the AFL Women’s competition. She then took the mature decision to step back from the sport in 2022 and take a short sabbatical, before returning to VFLW level in 2024. Known affectionately as ‘Dingo’, she played in seven games in 2024, averaging 8.6 disposals, 4.6 intercepts, and 2.6 tackles.
