Corey Wagner was given a second chance at his AFL career when Melbourne recruited him via the Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period at the end of 2018. The brother of Josh Wagner joined the club after spending a year with Casey Demons in the VFL where he won the best and fairest award after a standout campaign. Wagner was initially drafted to North Melbourne where he played eight senior games in two years before being unexpectedly delisted by the club. He has made the most of his opportunity in the red and blue so far, playing 11 matches in 2019. Wagner is one of the club’s hardest runners and is happy to perform any role for the team.
