ON THURSDAY, Melbourne mascot Ronnie “Dee” Mann visited 40 kinder aged children, who all participated in the Kinder Kick program at Jim Stynes' Pelican Childcare centre in Lynbrook.

The Kinder Kick program encourages the development of children's gross motor skills, including hand-eye and foot-hand coordination, balance and agility.

The program is also designed to encourage all young children to engage in physical activity from a young age.

The session began with the children warming up with a musical statues activity to the Melbourne theme song.

This was followed by a series of games and activities where the children engaged in skill based activities, as well as competition based races.

Each participating child received a Melbourne mascot poster and activity sheet to take home and complete with their families.

Melbourne is committed to providing the Casey community with high quality and meaningful programs.

It believes that by assisting children to develop specific physical skills, it can empower them to learn about the importance of physical activity in their lives, and become physically active for a lifetime.
