THERE will be plenty of footy action in Alice Springs this weekend, kicking off on Saturday afternoon with an open training session at TIO Traeger Park.

Melbourne will be having its final run ahead of Round 18, and fans will be able to head along and enjoy the session from 3pm ACST.

Following this, the Casey Demons VFLW side will be taking to the same venue, meeting the NT Thunder at 5:30pm ACST.

The Demons will be looking to register their fourth win of the season in Round 11, as they field arguably their strongest team of the season, with 12 AFLW-listed girls named to play.

The footy fun continues on Sunday, with a big double-header taking place back at TIO Traeger Park.

Proceedings kick off from 11:10am ACST where the Redtails take on the Top End Storm in a curtain-raiser game, with gates set to open 40 minutes prior to the bounce.

The Melbourne Football Club partnered with the Redtails footy team in 2017, aiming to drive change in the Central Australia community.

Sunday’s precursor provides the Redtails with a chance to entertain the locals and showcase the talent of footballers in the Northern Territory.

Then, at 2:50pm ACST, comes the main event.

Melbourne will be hosting West Coast in the Heart of the Nation match, proudly donning its 2019 Indigenous Guernsey, designed by Santa Teresa artist Mary Young.

The red and blue strip is available to purchase via the Demon Shop, while all match worn guernseys will be auctioned off after the game.
