MELBOURNE will open its 2018 NAB AFL Women’s competition with two home games at Casey Fields against GWS Giants and Adelaide Crows respectively next February.

The red and blue will start its AFLW season against the Giants on Saturday, February 3, 5.05pm (EDT). It will then play the Crows the following Saturday at the same time and venue. 

Melbourne will play four home matches next year, which includes three at Casey Fields and one at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs against Collingwood in round four. The match will be played at 5.40pm (CST).

The third game at Casey Fields is against the Brisbane Lions on Friday, March 2 at 7.05pm (EDT) in round five.

Aside from its home match in the Northern Territory, Melbourne will play one away game in Western Australia, in round three, when it takes on Fremantle at Fremantle Oval on Sunday, February 16 at 3.35pm (WST).

In round six, Melbourne will play against Carlton at Ikon Park on Sunday, March 11 at 4.35pm (EDT).

And in the final round of the home and away season, the Demons take on the Western Bulldogs at Victoria University Whitten Oval on Saturday, March 17 at 7.10pm (EDT).

The Grand Final will be played on Saturday, March 24 at a venue and time to be announced.

In the inaugural AFLW season, Melbourne missed out on playing off in the Grand Final by percentage.

It won five and lost two matches, finishing third on the ladder.
