JORDAN Lewis says “it’s laughable” to suggest there are culture issues at Melbourne.

The four-time premiership player said the club was on the right track and to suggest it had a problem was way off the mark.

“I’ve been at a really successful environment at Hawthorn and I understand the culture and I understand the culture here,” he said at a media conference at AAMI Park on Monday.

“It’s laughable from my point of view [to suggest there is a problem at Melbourne], because I understand what we’ve got here.

“You try not to buy in or comment on certain things that circle in the media, until you get asked about things, but I think it’s laughable.”

Reflecting on the final stages of Sunday’s win over Carlton at the MCG, Lewis said he was fully aware of the situation of the match.

“Daniel Cross came out and said ‘we have a minute left’,” he said.

“Alex Neal-Bullen had the ball and I was hoping that he’d kick it to me – and he did it and we were able to run down the clock and then it was a nice little win.

“I was glad he didn’t call play on too early.”

Lewis gave high praise to defender Neville Jetta and said his game against the Blues was critical.

“I don’t want to pump up his tyres too much, but I reckon he’s the most underrated backline player in the competition – he’s extraordinary,” he said.

“Some of his efforts late in the game – no doubt saved the game for us.

“He plays tall, small – it doesn’t matter – as it doesn’t faze him. He’s a beauty and someone you want on your side.”

Lewis said midfielder Dom Tyson (knee) and forward Jack Watts (hamstring) were tests for this Saturday night’s clash against the Adelaide Crows at TIO Stadium in Darwin.
