Selection No.41: Declan Keilty

From Casey Scorpions (Melbourne’s VFL affiliate), Keilty is a 21-year-old who is known for his versatility. He can play key back, up forward and in the ruck. He is a good mark and can intercept the ball. He produced a strong VFL finals series and the Melbourne has tracked him since his under-18 days with Gippsland Power.

What Melbourne national recruiting manager Jason Taylor says ...

“Our third selection who also came out of Casey was Declan Keilty. He also gives us some coverage in key stocks – key defence and also he’s been able to show an ability to play forward and ruck as well. That rounds out a bit of depth in all of those areas of the ground, which was much needed, so we’re pretty pleased with the result.”
