JAY Kennedy-Harris will miss the next four to six weeks with another hamstring injury.

It is the third time the speedy forward/midfielder has suffered a hamstring injury this year.

“Jay had a minor tweak at training last week,” elite performance manager Dave Misson told Melbourne TV.

“We don’t think it’s too serious, but it’s his third one in six months, so we’re going to have a bit of a look at what we’re doing there and make sure we set up Jay to have a good back half of the season.

“He’s probably four to six weeks away.”

Key defender Lynden Dunn will miss another match, according to Misson.

“He’s going really well. He’ll play in a week and he’s rehabbing well,” he said.

“He’s back at training this week.”

Misson said youngster Angus Brayshaw and rebounder Heritier Lumumba were progressing well after suffering concussion.

“They’re both going really well. Gus has been back at training for a week now and ‘H’ had his first session with the group on Wednesday and he will train with the AFL group on Friday.

“Gus is actually a chance of playing this week and he was training with our VFL group on Thursday night and we’ll make a decision after that.”

Half-back Christian Salem (illness) is still undergoing tests.

“It’s going reasonably slowly. All of his markers are improving, but they’re improving slowly,” Misson said.

“We’re not really putting a timeframe on Christian, but we want him to be healthy before he’s back training and playing.”

Forward Sam Weideman (hip flexor) will miss again this round in the VFL.

“It was nothing serious, but he missed last week and this week again, and he’ll play after the bye,” he said.

Rookie Joel Smith is four to six weeks away, due to a groin injury.

“We just want to set him up for a good back half of the season – he’s probably got another month before he’s back,” Misson said.

Ruckman Mitch King, who will miss the rest of the season, is chipping away with his rehab.

“He’s starting to do some pretty good leg weights now and putting a bit of size up top, which is what we want, so he’s tracking pretty well.”
