MIDFIELDER Clayton Oliver, who played his first official AFL match for Melbourne against Port Adelaide in last Saturday’s NAB Challenge win over Port Adelaide at Elizabeth, has accepted a sanction from the match review panel.

Oliver, who was selected at No.4 in last year’s NAB AFL Draft, was charged with engaging in rough conduct against Port Adelaide’s Aaron Young during the fourth quarter.

Oliver accepted the $1000 sanction with an early guilty plea.

Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from Port Adelaide, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with low impact to the head.

The incident was classified as a $1500 sanction, but Oliver had no applicable record which impacted the penalty. An early plea enabled Oliver to accept a $1000 sanction.
