BERNIE Vince, winner of Melbourne’s 2015 best and fairest award, will be attempting to clear the Yarra River with a thumping kick when he competes in Fox Footy’s Longest Kick competition.

Featuring a host of current and former stars, the Fox Footy Longest Kick will be a showpiece event on AFL’s greatest day as the players battle it out in an attempt to kick 75 metres across Melbourne’s Yarra River.

The Fox Footy Longest Kick will be broadcast live on Saturday, October 3 from 10am EST, hosted by the Bounce team: Jason Dunstall, Danny Frawley and Alastair Lynch.

Along with Vince, Essendon’s recently retired 400-gamer Dustin Fletcher, plus current stars Collingwood’s Travis Cloke, Geelong’s Tom Hawkins and Western Bulldogs’ Jake Stringer have all been confirmed to contest the very first Fox Footy Longest Kick.

Fans will also see some legends in action, including former Carlton and Brisbane full-forward Brendan Fevola and Sav Rocca, who kicked 748 goals in 257 games for Collingwood and North Melbourne, before switching codes to play as an NFL punter for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins.

Famous for his enormous torpedo punt Fletcher is looking forward to pulling on his playing jumper one more time this Grand Final day.

“It should be a lot of fun to be involved in the first Fox Footy Longest Kick across the Yarra,” he said.

Fans are encouraged to come down and see the players compete in the FOX FOOTY Longest Kick, from 10.00am on Grand Final morning, Saturday 3rd October at Birrarung Marr, Lower Terrace along the banks of the Yarra River.

The Longest Kick LIVE from 10.00am will headline a full-day of comprehensive coverage on FOX FOOTY (channel 504 on FOXTEL).
