YOUNGSTER Christian Salem has withdrawn from Sunday’s clash against the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium due to illness.

Utility Rohan Bail has come in as his replacement.

Salem was set to play his first match since round seven, after a hamstring injury sidelined him until round 16.

He has since played the past three matches in the VFL and was named in the final 22 on Friday night, but withdrew on Saturday afternoon.

Bail will play his first match since round 14. It will be his sixth appearance for the season.

Midfielder Aidan Riley has now been named an emergency.
