MELBOURNE has extended its partnership with New Balance for another three years.

New Balance general manager of Pacific, Ricky Knight, said his company was “excited” to secure a new deal with Melbourne.

“New Balance is proud to extend our Melbourne Football Club partnership for another three years. The MFC and NB organisations share a rich history of successfully pioneering in their respective business for more than 100 years,” he said.

“We operate the core values of integrity, teamwork and total customer satisfaction – it’s these values that drive us to extend our partnership with MFC.

“Over the past three years, New Balance has earned the reputation in the AFL as best partner for team service, cooperative marketing, product design and innovation.”

“New Balance’s global goal is to become a top three global athletic brand. We are now focusing on becoming a top three athletic brand on the global field of play. The 2014 MFC on-field range is an outstanding example of how NB takes our MFC partnership to another level.”

On top of its new deal, New Balance has also redeveloped Melbourne’s guernsey to a lightweight performance with patented New Balance dry moisture wicking technology for players’ jumpers and shorts.

In addition, the guernsey has a new look collar and neckline.

The MCC logo has been incorporated into the back of the playing jumper in recognition of the unique history and relationship between the two clubs. It’s also a reminder of Melbourne’s status as the true home Club of the MCG.

New Balance also worked with the Melbourne players to build a new contoured jumper body form.

Although New Balance has a strong and successful heritage in running, it has also made a strong presence on a range of leading sports world wide.

It has partnered with leading Major League Baseball players Dustin Pedroia, Curtis Granderson and Miguel Cabrera, and tennis player Milos Raonic.

Australian quicks James Pattinson and Pat Cummins and South African strike bowler Dale Steyn are cricketers represented by New Balance.

New Balance is a privately owned company originating from Boston, Massachusetts.

Like Melbourne, New Balance has a rich history, having been in existence for more than 100 years.
