HAVING been in the leadership group for the past two years, James Frawley says he’s eager to remain in it for a third year and what looms as a new-look group under coach Paul Roos.

“I’ll definitely try and put my hand up again,” Frawley told melbournefc.com.au.

“I’m enjoying it and hopefully next year, we’ll see how we go … I’m not really sure what’s going to happen [under Roos].

“I’ve been in it for two years now and you’re always learning on the job.”

Frawley said it had been a challenging period being in the leadership group, but one that had taught him plenty.

“New challenges always arise and with a young playing list, we’ve had a tough playing list off the field again,” he said.

“As a leader for me, you’ve got to knock [things] on the head early, as soon as you see something, act on it straight away. That’s what I try and do and I’m a pretty passionate guy on the footy field. You’ve got to act on it straight away and giving clear and concise feedback is the best way to do it.

“[With] Neeldy [departing], the media circus at the start of the year and how it all happened – but I think the leadership group really did a good job. [Jack] Grimes and Trenners (Jack Trengove) have been fantastic and all of the other six leaders as well.”
