THE MELBOURNE Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of George de Crespigny to the role of Chief Commercial Officer.

de Crespigny has had extensive experience in the commercial side of professional sport, having spent eight years with the AFL and, most recently, two years with Brumbies Rugby in Canberra.

During his eight years with the AFL, De Crespigny most recently held the position of Manager Corporate Partners.  Before this, he spent two years in the role of Business Development Manager.

de Crespigny is currently the General Manager of Brumbies Rugby, responsible for all revenue streams in the club, as well as match-day operations for the Brumbies’ eight home games, government relationships, and development of the Club’s new strategic plan.

Melbourne CEO Peter Jackson welcomed the appointment as an important step in the Club’s development.

“I am delighted that George has accepted the position of Chief Commercial Officer with Melbourne Football Club. The Club has secured a highly respected operator in his field, and this is a very important appointment for the future development and success of the Melbourne Football Club.”

de Crespigny will commence his role at the Club in October.
