The Melbourne Football Club would like to congratulate former senior coach Neale Daniher for being named the 2019 Victorian of the Year.

Daniher has shown incredible courage since being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2013, using his battle to start researching 'The Beast' of an illness.

In 2014, Daniher co-founded FightMND and has helped raise millions of dollars over the past six years in a bid to find a cure.

The last five Queen’s Birthday matches between Melbourne and Collingwood have been dedicated to Daniher’s cause, with the Big Freeze at the ’G helping raise crucial funds.

Daniher has not only inspired the Melbourne players, coaches and staff along his journey, but touched the hearts of thousands of people nation-wide.
