MELBOURNE Chairman Glen Bartlett addressed the club’s supporters during Tuesday night’s Members Forum, saying it was an extremely important event for the club.

This inaugural forum at the MCG provided the Demons with an opportunity to communicate to their loyal members, discussing the challenges faced throughout 2019.

“While we know our results this season were far from what we were expecting, and expect, this football club is still your club and one we want to stand side-by-side and be proud of,” Bartlett said.

“As a new initiative this year, the CEO and the board decided a number of months ago to introduce a members football forum which will now be run at the end of the season, regardless of where we finish.

“It will give you an opportunity to hear a review of the year and have the opportunity to ask questions of our club’s leaders.”

This event gave the Dees the chance to put a full stop on 2019 and shed light on the plans for next season.

“I can tell you that every single person at the club … like each and every one of you, felt the frustration, the pain, the disappointment and at times the madness of the season that was,” Bartlett said.

“No one person is immune to it.

“The highs and the lows, we certainly, let me tell you, ride them every step of the way with you.

“Trust me, because we all want the same thing, we all believe in the same thing and we give our blood sweat and tears to the same thing, and that is to achieve success together.”

Bartlett was the first of five speakers at the forum, with Gary Pert, Josh Mahoney, Simon Goodwin and Darren Burgess all delivering their plans to help Melbourne bounce back in 2020.
