Paddy Cross is a forward who joined Melbourne’s AFL list via the pre-season supplemental selection period in 2026, following the retirement of Steven May. Recruited from the Casey Demons, Cross earned his opportunity after a strong body of work at VFL level, where he showcased consistency, versatility and a strong aerial presence.
His standout 2025 campaign saw him win Casey’s Rising Star award, kicking 24 goals across 18 games, including a four-goal performance in an elimination final.
After training with Melbourne across the summer, Cross impressed enough to secure a rookie deal, entering the AFL system as part of a new era under coach Steven King.
