ON A COLD, rainy Friday night, Melbourne secured a stirring round four victory over Richmond.

As early as the next morning, the players from that match were out and about in the club’s heartland, investing their time in the local community.

Players visited Auskick centres in Ormond, Bentleigh, South Yarra, Murrumbeena, Carnegie and Malvern East.

As part of the visit, the players conducted a clinic, participated in a Q&A session and signed autographs.

The Auskick visits are part of the club’s efforts to re-engage with its traditional heartland.

This includes an increased presence in the Bayside, Stonnington and Boroondara regions through visits to schools, junior football clubs and Auskick centres.

The next day, injured players Christian Petracca and Jayden Hunt headed to Pakenham for the 2015 South East Juniors Little Demons Day.

More than 1,400 junior footballers converged on Toomuc Reserve for the event, with tournaments set up for U/8s, U/9s and U/10s, along with a separate competition for U/12 girls.

The Little Demons Day is one of Melbourne’s biggest events in the City of Casey region and forms a key part of the club’s association with the South East Juniors.
