The Connecting with the Community Breakfast was held this morning at Casey Fields, with many community stakeholders in attendance.  Cameron Schwab kicked the morning off by reflecting on the community activity being undertaken by the Club within the City of Casey region.  Cameron highlighted the importance of engaging the community, and stated that it is an integral part of the fabric of the Club.

Following this, Cenza Fulco, Community Engagement Librarian at Casey Cardinia Library Corporation, shared the success of the “Read like a Demon” program.  Cenza discussed Callum McAuffie’s story - he is a young participant who was a reluctant reader, but after participating in the program, Callum improved his literacy skills and developed a passion for reading.  Dean Bailey concluded by providing an insight into the players’ pre-season, discussing the importance of players being involved in the community, and referred to the community training facilities at Casey Fields as first class.
