MELBOURNE has kicked the highest score of the AFLX tournament so far, piling on 82 points to defeat Carlton (54).

The speed of the Dees' ball movement, which is something they practice a lot at training, proved too difficult to handle for a young Carlton side.

Jake Melksham and Tom McDonald were among the standouts for Melbourne.
Christian Petracca also looked well suited to the game.

Young Carlton draftees Paddy Dow and Lochie O'Brien did not look out of place and put their head over the footy.

Melksham kicked back-to-back Zooper goals and was instrumental in setting up the win.

The 26-year-old is set to play forward/mid this year after kicking 21 goals in 12 games at the back-end of last season.

Petracca also kicked a beautifully-curled drop punt for a Zooper goal.

Youngster Billy Stretch had a game high 10 disposals.

James Harmes, Melksam and Tom Bugg all had nine touches each.

Melbourne will play North Melbourne next and then if it wins, it will play in the Grand Final.
