In episode nineteen of Inside Melbourne, Caty Price and Clint Stanaway are joined by our milestone man Jordan Lewis as we discuss the importance of this weeks game. We get Jordan’s view on the narrow loss to Geelong (2:10), discuss his journey to 300 games (8:30) and take all your questions from the outer (15:00). Plus special guest Angus Brayshaw is back to talk about his new contract and acknowledge the impact Jordan Lewis has had at the Melbourne Football Club (28:00).

ANGUS Brayshaw has lauded Jordan Lewis’ ability to chalk up 300 AFL games.

Brayshaw said Lewis’ influence since joining Melbourne in October 2016 had been immense.

“I think he sometimes underestimates how much he means to so many different people [at Melbourne] – and the value he brings to this club,” he told Inside Melbourne.

“Many a time I’ve tried to share a wine with him and tried to tell him how much [he means to us].

“It’s hard to put into words what he means to us.”

Brayshaw said Lewis’ insight was among the best he’s seen in the game.

“The way he’s critically thinking about the game is so unique and so different to anything I’ve ever seen before,” he said.

“I’ve watched my game footage and there are little things that I do that I can see as a direct result for working with Lewy. It just wouldn’t be there without his influence and I think he’s even changed the way we play as a team – the way we attack.

“He’s been unbelievable and he sometimes tries to play down how good he is, but he’s a superstar and I think he knows that I appreciate him. But I think the whole AFL and the community appreciates the bloke and player he is.”

Brayshaw said Lewis was quite simply pragmatic in his approach to the game.

“Lewy is not a sentimental character,” he said.

“It’s funny, we had this big meeting where we were pumping him up and everyone was loving him and he got up there and said ‘thanks’ and he was grateful.

“Then he said ‘look, we’ve got a game this weekend and it’s not really about me, so let’s focus on the game’.”
