CASEY has thrashed Coburg by 78 points at Piranha Park on Saturday.

The Scorpions 16.20 (116) defeated the Lions 6.2 (38). 

Casey sits on top of the ladder with 11 wins from 14 matches this season.

The Scorps never looked in trouble, leading at every change.

Tough-nut Ben Kennedy and former co-captain Jack Grimes started for Casey, with 39 disposals each.

First-year player Clayton Oliver had 36 touches, along with another former co-skipper Jack Trengove, who had 36 disposals and a goal.

Midfielder Ben Newton had 34 possessions and ball-magnet Viv Michie had 30 touches and two goals.

Forwards Sam Weideman and Dean Terlich kicked three goals each. Terlich also had 25 disposals.

The versatile Alex Neal-Bullen had 29 possessions and kicked two goals.

Meanwhile, in the AFL Victoria Development League, Jay Kennedy-Harris had 29 disposals in Casey’s 49-point win over Coburg.

Casey plays Essendon next Saturday at Casey Fields at 7pm.

There are four home and away rounds remaining before finals.
