MELBOURNE has swung a late change ahead of its Easter Sunday clash with the Gold Coast, bringing the skilled Bailey Laurie into the side.

It’s a Bailey for Bayley switch for the Demons as Bayley Fritsch is withdrawn after four goals last weekend against Carlton.

General Manager of AFL Football Performance Alan Richardson confirmed the news.

“Bayley has had some foot soreness during the week and was unable to get through training, so he won’t be available this weekend,” Richardson said.

“He will have further investigation and our performance and medical team will formulate a plan in the coming days to ensure he’s ready to return to play.”

Laurie earns a long-awaited recall to the side, having last played in Round 13 last season.

The elite ball-user will be thrilled with the off-season’s rule changes, having been subbed either on or off in nine of his 12 career AFL matches.

Jack Henderson has been brought into the squad as emergency.
