THE MELBOURNE Football Club has continued its work on our China strategy by inviting four international Chinese students from the University of Melbourne’s graduate school of business to undertake a two week business practicum. This is the second time that the Melbourne Football Club has hosted students from the University of Melbourne’s business school.

The team of four - Melody, Will, Patrick and Kevin - spent two weeks working with the Club’s strategy and commercial teams, evaluating our current China strategy and providing insights into potential Chinese sponsors.

After lengthy research, the group presented to the Club’s commercial managers, and suggested some innovative and culturally specific strategies to help attract Chinese commercial partners to support our great club.

Kevin said, “Working at the Melbourne Football Club was truly a unique experience. The Club staff were very kind and offered great help during this project. I highly appreciated having this opportunity to work at the Melbourne Football Club, where I gained valuable real life work experience."

The Club is currently in negotiations with a number of Chinese companies.  The work conducted by the Melbourne University students will assist in refining and strengthening our relationships, which we expect to deliver a positive result in 2013.

We would like to thank Melody, Will, Patrick and Kevin for their dedication, professionalism and invaluable insights.
