TIM HARRINGTON says Melbourne is still focused on acquiring elite 17-year-old talent via the Greater Western Sydney Trade Incentive scheme.

Speaking to melbournefc.com.au following the opening day of trade week, Harrington said the club was keen to be involved in this recruiting method, while keeping its options open in terms of securing experienced talent.

“We met with each of the other 17 clubs to further discuss potential trade,” he said.

“We are most focused at the moment on what the trading scheme offers us and what elite 17-year-old offers us as a club.

“We’re mindful that we’ve got Jack Viney as a father-son selection next year, so we would love to be able to add elite young talent to our list.

“We are also open-minded about the possible additions of players to our list via trades with other clubs.”
