LEADER Nathan Jones is a good chance to return for Saturday’s clash against Richmond at the MCG, according to coach Mark Neeld.

Speaking on DeeTV, Neeld was optimistic the midfielder would return for the round 15 clash.

Jones, and ruckman Mark Jamar, were late withdrawals against Brisbane Lions at the Gabba last round, due to calf injuries.

“Nathan Jones is every chance to play, [but] he still needs to get through training,” Neeld told ‘The Coach’s Office’.

“We’ve got Nathan Jones and Mark Jamar and Brad Green that we’re hoping can get through training and put their hand up for selection.”

Green has missed the past three matches with a quadriceps injury.

Meanwhile, Neeld said he was pleased with the recent development of speedster Sam Blease.

“It was pleasing over the last couple of weeks to see some of his all round game coming to the fore,” he said.

“Sam’s challenge is to continue to train hard and as a young player, just instill those basic fundamentals all game.

“But Sam has played a dozen games of league footy and he’s shown a preparedness to have a crack.”
