JEREMY Howe has received his first Mark of the Year nomination in 2013, for his spectacular grab over Andrew Embley in the Round 3 clash against West Coast at the MCG.

What made Howe’s mark particularly impressive was the lead up to it, in which he ran backwards, not moving his eye from the ball. While he says he knew Embley was ‘nearby’, he didn’t look at him once before leaping onto his shoulders to mark the ball.

Howe totalled eight Mark of the Year nominations for 2012, ultimately taking out the grand prize.
