Jack hopes tackle will pass the test
By Sam Edmund

JACK Trengove admits he has no idea if he will be hit with another suspension as debate rages over his latest "sling" tackle. Trengove’s fate will be determined by the match review panel, despite the Melbourne teenager executing what many claim was the perfect tackle on Western Bulldog Callan Ward on Friday night. Trengove was even awarded a free kick after Ward was caught holding the ball, but umpires' boss Jeff Gieschen later said the tackle contained "characteristics of a sling tackle". Trengove was none the wiser. "I really don't know, I was just happy I got the free kick in the end and I got him holding the ball and that's all I was worried about at the time," he told Channel 7. "I suppose I just tackle the way I've grown up doing. "You're just trying your best to dispose them of the ball and get them to ground." Trengove was banned for three weeks for a near-identical tackle on Adelaide's Patrick Dangerfield in Round 7. But in what could be the difference, Dangerfield was concussed and Ward escaped unhurt.
