MAX Gawn has slipped to second in the Shadforth Financial Group AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award, but Clayton Oliver has moved up to fourth.

Oliver gained 10 votes in Melbourne’s 96-point win over the Gold Coast Suns at the MCG on Sunday, while Gawn didn’t gain a vote. 

Angus Brayshaw (six votes), Jesse Hogan (four), James Harmes (two) and Christian Salem (two) were the other vote-getters for the Demons.

Gold Coast’s Alex Sexton received two votes for his five-goal performance.

Hawk Tom Mitchell has moved to top spot on 86 votes.

Gawn and Oliver are also considered genuine Brownlow Medal contenders.
