HARRIET Cordner and Mitch Lewis have been selected as this week’s King Gee Trademark Players of the Week in the VFLW and VFL respectively.

Moved from her usual defensive post to the midfield, Cordner was among our best in the VFLW loss to Darebin according to coach Damien Keeping.

“Hariet’s application to individual improvement over the first two rounds, combined with her team first attitude led to her being able to deliver high level performance against Darebin,” Keeping said.

“After having spent the majority of the first two games in defence, Hariet was thrown the challenge of running through the midfield against and experienced and highly skilled opposition.

“Her eagerness to embrace the challenge set a tone for the entire team and has now set a standard for all to follow as we look forward to playing Williamstown in the next round.”

In similar fashion in the VFL, Mitch Lewis was moved out of position against Port Melbourne and was a standout according to coach Jade Rawlings.

“Mitch was playing his fifth game of VFL footy and was in our best two players on the day. He won critical contests, put his body on the line and used the ball well,” Rawlings said.

“Mitch played back for this game, which is foreign territory for him. He embraced the role and won respect, and trust, from his coaches and his peers.”

Thanks to King Gee, both players will receive a $150 voucher.
