CO-CAPTAIN Jack Viney says he’s where he expected to be after recovering from a foot injury, which interrupted the latter part of last season.

The 2016 best and fairest winner, who missed four of the final eight home and away matches last year, due to the problem, said he was on track with his rehabilitation.

“I’m going well. I’m still progressing every session at this stage,” he told melbournefc.com.au.

“I’m where I’m supposed to be and hopefully it stays that way.”

Viney said he got some good training in on the Sunshine Coast, adding that it was an “awesome” camp, largely because of the camaraderie that came from it.

“Relationships are the number one thing that comes out of the camp,” he said.

“It’s been a tough, long pre-season and to get away with your teammates for a week is nice.

“It’s good to reflect and look forward to the future, and get excited about what we’re doing. I think just spending time with each other was the number one benefit and what you get out of the camp.”
