MATCH PREVIEW:
It’s been a long history of battles between Melbourne and Brisbane since the beginning of the competition, the most recent and most important one being the season seven grand final. They last met on the biggest day of the season with the Demons walking away premiers.

This grand final heartbreak, coupled with coming off a disappointing loss to St Kilda in Round 9, will see Brisbane gear up towards a high intensity performance on their home deck in Springfield.

Melbourne is in impressive form having won their last three games, sitting atop the ladder with the final match to be the decider on whether or not the Dees take home the minor premiership.

Saturday’s game will also see the league celebrate Pride Round, an opportunity for the competition to come together and support diversity and inclusion of LGBTQIA+ communities.

Both teams will be pulling on their Pride guernsey’s for the final match of the home-and-away season, with the Round 10 clash set to be a fiery one.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Melbourne
Kate Hore
Powerful, agile and with a snap that knows where the goals are, Hore is well known among the league as one of the best competitors inside 50.

Instrumental in Melbourne’s grand final win last season, Hore has proven she can take on the Lions under extreme pressure, coming alive during the final term when every disposal was crucial.

This season has seen the Demon hone her craft even further, with Saturday’s match a potential for her to  overtake her teammate in Eden Zanker for the leading goal-kicker, currently sitting on 19 goals for the year (Zanker with 20).

She also currently leads the competition in score involvements (68) and the all-time goal tally (75), so it’s safe to say Melbourne’s new captain will be one to watch.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Brisbane
Shannon Campbell
A strong defender for Brisbane, Campbell can be a pillar of power, often the winner of important one-on-one contests.

This weekend will see her, and the Lions, face one of the league’s best offensive sides, Melbourne having scored the highest number of points this season with 625.

Campbell has shown that she can compete with the Dees having been named the grand final MVP when the two teams last met, registering 19 disposals, eight marks, and nine intercepts.
