INS - Woewodin
OUTS – May (inj.)

MELBOURNE will head to Adelaide with one change to its side, welcoming Taj Woewodin to the Demon line-up.

Woewodin will add plenty of class and composure as the Dees look for victory in opposition territory, facing Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

Defender Steven May will miss the first of the team’s back-to-back games in South Australia after scans confirmed earlier this week that he had suffered two fractures to his ribs during Round 2.

Of the 23 named, one Demon will be confirmed as the team’s tactical substitute 60 minutes prior to the first bounce.

Bailey Laurie, Adam Tomlinson and Tom Fullarton will make up the Round 3 emergency list.

The Saturday clash will be a particularly special one for Demon Jack Viney, who will step out for the 200th time in the red and blue. A heart and soul midfielder for the club, Viney's dedication, resilience, and leadership have been integral to the team's success over the years.

The Dees are set for a tough top-four battle over the border, with senior coach Simon Goodwin emphasising the challenge that Power presents.

"They are as of a dynamic a side as any, so we know what we’re up against," Goodwin said.

"Their midfield’s incredibly talented. They've got three big forwards that mark the ball. It's going to be a great game.

"I think every game that we've played against Port Adelaide over the last three or four years has been highly contested and very tight. So, we're expecting nothing different. It's going to be a cracker."

The bounce is scheduled for 7:30pm (AEDT), and supporters can catch all the action live on Kayo Sports and Foxtel. Get access to Kayo as part of a 2024 Digital Membership, available here.
