Player Bio

At a glance

Drafted: 2014 NAB AFL Draft 1st round selection (Melbourne) No. 3 overall.
Recruited from:
Hampton Rovers (Vic)/Sandringham U18

After playing the first two games of 2017, it was another frustrating season for Brayshaw whose career was put in serious jeopardy following his fourth concussion in 12 months. The tough midfielder was given an indefinite break and underwent a series of neurological tests to ensure he was not putting his health at risk. Played his first game upon return in the VFL in July and after some strong form at the lower level came back into the Melbourne team in round 21 against St Kilda. Had 26 disposals and, importantly, got through unscathed after a heavy hit early in the contest. Only 22, Brayshaw will look to become a regular fixture in the Demons’ side following his injury concerns.
