DAISY Pearce will meet with a specialist on Monday after scans revealed damage to her right medial collateral ligament.

The Melbourne captain sustained the injury on Saturday when her knee buckled in a tackle during the Demons’ Round 9 match against Brisbane.

She took no further part in her side’s two-point victory at Casey Fields.

“Scans have this morning confirmed damage to the medial collateral ligament in Daisy’s right knee,” GM of AFLW Daniel McPherson told Melbourne Media.

“It appears highly unlikely that Daisy will be fit to play in next weekend’s Qualifying Final, but at this early stage, we are hopeful that she may be available for the second week of the finals, should we make it through.”

“Daisy will meet with a specialist tomorrow to undergo further assessment and, alongside our medical team, will then map out a rehab and return to play plan for her.”

Melbourne will provide an update on Pearce’s condition in due course.
