IN: Jack Viney

OUT: James Harmes (wrist)

MELBOURNE is set to receive a major boost in Round 2, with the return of vice-captain Jack Viney.

Saturday night’s clash with the Saints will be Viney’s first senior game of 2021, after undergoing a minor procedure on his foot during the pre-season.

Despite the setback, the hard-at-it on-baller will be ready to play without restriction at Marvel Stadium, fresh off a run in the Casey Demons’ practice match last week.

Viney’s inclusion comes at the expense of James Harmes, who suffered a fractured wrist during his side’s Round 1 win over the Dockers.

Harmes has jumped straight into his recovery with an early operation, but could face up to six weeks on the sidelines.

The Dees’ clash with St Kilda marks the inaugural ‘Spud’s Game: Time 2 Talk’, honouring the late Danny Frawley by encouraging people to speak about mental health.

The match will also be Steven May’s 150th at the level, after playing the first 123 games of his career with Gold Coast.

Melbourne’s medical sub is yet to be confirmed, although it will be out of Oskar Baker, Michael Hibberd, Jake Melksham and Harry Petty, who are the club’s emergencies this weekend.
