JUST two days after Melbourne’s loss to Sydney, the club is already looking ahead to Round 16.

The tight turn around may be a blessing in disguise for the Demons, but expect to see a number of changes to the 22 come Monday night.

After a condensed block of fixturing and multiple flights, the Dees may add some fresh legs to the line-up for their second game at Cazaly’s Stadium.

This leaves a wide range of players in contention to return against the Dockers, with the depth on the club’s list proving crucial in the backend of the season.

Michael Hibberd

Michael Hibberd missed with ankle soreness on Thursday, but if fit, expect him to slot straight back into the side.

Kysaiah Pickett

After being managed last round, Kysaiah Pickett could be called upon to add some flare and defensive pressure to the forward half of the ground.

Aaron vandenBerg

Aaron vandenBerg was omitted from the side that faced Sydney, but the Demons missed his aggression around the ball, so he would have to be a chance to return.

Tom McDonald

Melbourne may be tempted to give Mitch Brown, Sam Weideman and Bayley Fritsch another opportunity together up forward, but Tom McDonald is a proven performer and will be in contention.

Neville Jetta

Neville Jetta hasn’t played senior footy since Round 8 this year, but the reliable small defender may be due for another chance with Melbourne’s season on the line.

Jay Lockhart

If the Demons don’t opt to play Jetta, Jay Lockhart is another option who is capable of performing in that lockdown role down back.

Oskar Baker

Oskar Baker would be a surprise addition, but the Dees lacked speed on Thursday night and his efforts on the wing in recent practice matches have been worth noting.

Jayden Hunt

Jayden Hunt has managed just three games in 2020, and hasn’t been seen since the Demons left Victoria, but he’s another one who offers plenty of run, so it might be time to inject his pace into the 22.

Harley Bennell

There’s no doubting Harley Bennell’s class is valuable at the top level, so Melbourne may be tempted to give him another shot to address some efficiency issues in the front half of the ground.

Mitch Hannan

Mitch Hannan has found himself on the fringe for a lot of the season and will be hoping for another chance against the Dockers.

Corey Wagner

Corey Wagner’s work rate is as consistent as anyone’s, his form in the reserves has been strong, and he could be looked at to add some run inside 50.

Toby Bedford

While Toby Bedford hasn't been seen since Round 1, the young small forward knows how to kick a goal and could give the Demons a spark if included.
