MELBOURNE’S spiritual home, the MCG, is set to reveal all in a new documentary titled Inside the ‘G.

Taking fans behind-the-scenes like never before, the documentary will give insight into the stadium’s off-field action, highlighting two of the biggest events of the AFL calendar.

The Seven-produced feature will first showcase this year’s ANZAC Day Eve clash against Melbourne and Richmond. Closely tracking Demons co-captain Jack Viney, audiences will delve into the red and blue’s tough 43-point loss, on what is a big occasion for both clubs.

Fans will then go inside the umpires’ inner sanctum during the succeeding Essendon-Collingwood ANZAC Day clash, when the Pies hang on for a nail-biting victory amidst controversial decisions.

Airing on the Seven Network on Tuesday evening, viewers will also get rare insights into the logistics of hosting a 90,000-strong crowd.

The challenges of emergency services, stadium management, paramedics and security staff will all be spotlighted, as the pressures of an MCG blockbuster are shared with the nation.

Inside the ‘G will be broadcast on Channel 7 in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth at 8.30pm on Tuesday 17 September.
