THE MELBOURNE Football Club is proud to continue its partnership with the Victorian Department of Education and Training and the Bully Stoppers’ #ihaveyourback campaign, launching a powerful new video addressing cyber bullying.

The piece, which features co-captain Jack Viney, ruckman Max Gawn and AFLW ruck Lauren Pearce, together with students from Buckley Park College, shines a light on exactly what cyber bullying looks like, and how to best minimise it.

Encouraging students to take action, the video also provides tips on how to be an upstander when witnessing bullying online. It promotes the reporting of negative comments, disengagement by not liking or sharing hurtful content, and checking in with anyone who has been subject to bullying, to ensure they are okay.

The release follows the launch of the #ihaveyourback campaign in March, where Melbourne, the Department and the Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc., came together in an attempt to stamp out racial bullying.

With an initial video featuring Melbourne co-captain Nathan Jones and Indigenous players Neville Jetta and Aliesha Newman, the campaign showcased its support of all students taking a stand against all forms of bullying.
