MELBOURNE has made two changes for Sunday’s clash against the GWS Giants at Blacktown, with Maddy Guerin and Brooke Patterson named in the side.

The pair replace Ash Woodland and Ainslie Kemp, who have both been omitted.

Kemp has been named as an emergency alongside Shelley Heath.

Both Guerin and Patterson will play their first games for 2019, with Guerin set to play just her second game since debuting against the same opponent in 2018.

Meanwhile Patterson has not featured for Melbourne since round seven of 2018 against the Western Bulldogs.

It is the first match-up between Melbourne and GWS since round one, 2018, when Melbourne claimed a six-point win at Casey Fields.

The only other clash between the sides came in 2017, with GWS emerging as victors at Blacktown International Sportspark.

A win will be crucial for the red and blue, who sit fourth in Conference B and need a win to keep up with the race to the finals.

The match will kick-off at 2.05pm AEDT on Sunday.
