Match Preview

All eyes will be on Casey Fields this Sunday, with the club's inaugural VFLW match kicking off the day, while Jack Viney will make his long-awaited return from injury in the VFL.

At 11.00am, the VFL Women's side will be in action against Hawthorn, who are coming off an impressive round one win against Essendon.

Hawthorn will bring an unchanged squad to Casey Fields, featuring AFLW players Sarah 'Tex' Perkins (Adelaide), Phoebe McWilliams (GWS Giants), Meg Hutchins (formerly Collingwood) and Pepa Randall (GWS Giants).

Casey are coming off a round one bye and have included eight Melbourne AFLW players in the 22 - Harriet Cordner, Kate Hore, Jasmine Grierson, Maddie Shevlin, Aliesha Newman, Eden Zanker, Laura Duryea and Katherine Smith.

In VFL action, it's set to be a thrilling clash with Casey Demons taking on the table-toppers Box Hill Hawks at Casey Fields. The game will get underway from 2pm.

The boys have reset and will be ready for the match after taking some valuable time to rest over the bye last weekend. Box Hill Hawks have shot to the top of the ladder after an undefeated start to the season sees them hold a 4-0 record.

The Hawks were too strong for Sandringham last week kicking 18 goals to eight to win by 64 points.

Our record against Box Hill has been positive lately winning the past three clashes against the Hawks. Casey defeated Box Hill last season by 26 points which at the time inflicted the Hawks first loss of the season. In 2016 the Demons were too strong for the Hawks too with wins in Round 7 and Round 21.

Just like last season, Casey find themselves taking on an undefeated Box Hill outfit and we will be looking to spoil the party once again this Sunday at Casey Fields.
