INS – Colvin, Goldrick, McNamara, Magee, Petrevski
OUTS – Heath, Scott, Gay, Sherriff, Lampard (AFL Health and Safety Protocols)

MELBOURNE has made five changes to its starting 21 ahead of Friday night’s clash against Richmond.

Gabby Colvin, Sinead Goldrick, Eliza McNamara, Lauren Magee and Krstel Petrevski have all been named for the match at the Swinburne Centre.

Colvin, Goldrick, McNamara and Magee, who were unavailable for Round 1 under the AFL’s Health and Safety protocols, returned to training on Monday night and proved their skills on the track, returning to play in Round 2.

Colvin, Goldrick and Magee will all bolster the side’s back line, while McNamara will line up along the wing. Petrevski will look to impact in the forward line.

Georgia Campbell has been named on the emergency list alongside Jordan Zanchetta, who has spent time as a training partner during the club’s pre-season.

Shelley Heath, Shelley Scott, Maddi Gay, Casey Sherriff, Sarah Lampard, Maeve Chaplin and Tahlia Gillard were unavailable for selection under the AFL’s Health and Safety Protocols.

Friday night’s game will mark a spot in the history books for women’s football, with the two teams facing each other at Swinburne Centre for the first time in the league’s history.

Both sides will be looking to snap up back-to-back wins, after two successful Round 1 matches last weekend. Melbourne in particular will be looking to continue a unique winning streak, having never lost a Round 2 game since the AFLW’s inception in 2017.

Tickets for the match are unfortunately sold out, with no further tickets to be made available. You can tune into the game via Fox Footy or Kayo Sports, with the first bounce scheduled for 7:10pm (AEDT).
