Season Overview:
Fritsch has been a consistent member of Melbourne's forward line since he debuted for the club in 2018. This year, however, he elevated his game to another level, becoming one of the league's top goal kickers, averaging 2.5 goals per game and booting a total of 59 goals over his 24 appearances.

The 24-year-old worked hard in pre-season, putting in hours of practice in front of goals with the hopes to improve upon his 22 kicked in 2020. Training closely with forward coach Greg Stafford, Fritsch demonstrated this commitment to improvement, making a scoreboard impact in 22 of his 24 games and using his marking strength and ability to read the play to his advantage.

The forward had a number of notable performances throughout the season, including his huge seven-goal display against Adelaide in Round 22. But undoubtably the biggest game of his career came in the biggest game on the football calendar. In the AFL Grand Final, Fritsch dominated the Melbourne forward line and kicked a whopping six goals. He became the first Melbourne player since 1948 to kick six goals in a Grand Final and was pivotal in pushing Melbourne towards its drought-breaking premiership win.
