Kicking Goals Program

You can Kick goals

In 2010, more than 2,000 students from 21 schools participated in the “You can Kick Goals” program within the City of Casey.  In 2011, 18 schools will again undertake the program, which will commence in Term 2 and/or 3.

The You Can Kick Goals Program is a 6 week program, which focuses on Healthy Eating, Respect, Harmony, Leadership and Teamwork, reaching more than 2,000 students. The program is facilitated by school teachers and supported by Chisholm Institute Diploma of Sports Development students.
The “You Can Kicking Goals” - “Mascots” (3 & 4) and “Rookie” (5 & 6) resources provides the students with a work book which reinforces the important values that are integral to the building of stronger and more harmonious communities.  The AFL Learning Management system and the AFL Schools website also provides support to the program.

The “You Can Kicking Goals” program is linked to relevant learning outcomes as prescribed in the curriculum frameworks.  Along with the student resources, teachers are also provided with a 10 lesson classroom teacher and learning curriculum to assist with the delivery. Each school participating in the 2011 You Can Kicking Goals programs will be offered the opportunity to have a Chisholm Institute Diploma of Sports Development student, to assist with the delivery of the program.

At the conclusion of the program all the schools participate in the You can Kick Goals Gala Day!

A Demons Theme Song CD
We do encourage the use of the Demons theme song, a CD has been provided which can be utilised during lunchtime or when delivering the kicking goals program.

A Melbourne Football Club tracksuit jacket
You are strongly encouraged to wear the Melbourne FC tracksuit jacket when delivering the kicking goals program.

Demons Friendly School Certificate
New schools joining the 2011 Kicking Goals program will receive an A3 framed Demons Friendly School certificate.

Demon Heartland ticketing opportunities
Each school will be offered the opportunity to obtain free tickets to Melbourne FC Home games at the MCG as part of the Demon Heartland program, see attachment.
